Welcome to WAAAM!

Antiques that still fly & drive!

Don't miss it. WAAAM has one of the largest collections of still-flying antique aeroplanes and still-driving antique automobiles in the country.

The items on display at this museum are not only full of history... they're full of LIFE!

Aircraft, automobiles, motorcycles, tractors, military jeeps and engines all get their day in the sun again at WAAAM.

As We Get our Engines Running

Watch our planes take off and land, and hitch a ride in one of our antique cars.

Every Saturday is different ... so be sure to come often!

"A visit to WAAAM on a Second Saturday is bound to make you realize just how easy life is these days. People don't even give it a thought, but in 1917, it could have taken a half an hour just to get the oil warm enough to crank the car!" (Judy Newman, Director)

Our Vehicles PURRRR!

Visitors at WAAAM quickly realize that our vehicles are not just a collection of old, unusable stuff. Once restored by our amazingly gifted volunteers, all of our antique cars and planes can and do run. More than that, they purrrrrr!

Our Antique Airplanes

All of our antique airplanes have been meticulously restored from the inside out. And, unlike the aircraft at most air museums, our aircraft still fly! Be clear on this ... it's not that they "can" fly, they DO fly.  We take our aircraft out as often as we can, and we give them the workout that they want and deserve.

Most of our aircraft were flown for the purposes of personal recreation, some were used as work horses, and others were flown for military reasons.

Our Antique Automobiles

Our antique automobiles vary in age from 1899 to the 1960's. But mostly, they're from the "Golden Age of Transportation," which took place around the 1920's, 30's, and 40's.  Here are some examples ...

  • Our oldest car is an 1899 Locomobile Steam Car, on loan from a collector.
  • From the 1930's we have cars like our 1936 Cord 810 Westchester Sedan, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cars ever built.
  • A car with a very unusual history is a 1924 Hupmobile which got transformed for a while into the engine that powered a ski lift.

...and that's just scratching the surface!
