Year: 1953

Donation: Neil and Velma Vanaelst

Engine: Lycoming O-290 135HP

Introduced in 1950 the 4-seat Pacer replaced the control stick with a control wheel. With larger fuel tanks and a larger tail than its predecessors it was a good cross country airplane. It is an excellent performer but it demands the pilot’s full attention on the ground. Beginning in 1951 Piper built a tricycle gear version for easier ground handling. The Pacer/Tripacer was built until 1960.
