Restoration Class student works on a Model T Ford at WAAAM.Historic Vehicle Restoration Program

Continue the tradition of what generations of automobile enthusiasts have done before by bringing back to life historic cars. Enroll in WAAAM's Historic Vehicle Restoration Program!

With over 100 museum cars on display, yearly operation and maintenance at WAAAM is an ongoing hands-on training opportunity for students needing the foundation skills for automotive restoration, maintenance, and repair. Advanced classes participate in the restoration of museum vehicles to acquire skills.

Class Information:

The tuition for WAAAM's Historic Vehicle Restoration Program is $2,500 per 500 hour certification level. Financial scholarships are available to help those in need to offset the tuition cost.

The WAAAM Historic Vehicle Restoration Program consists of five levels of competency based certification training. Each level is 500 hours of course time. Vehicle Maintenance Student works on a vintage automobile at WAAAM. These levels and certifications are:

  • Historic Vehicle Maintenance and Light Repair (ASE G1)
  • Mechanical Repair & Troubleshooting (ASE A1, A2, A3, A4, A5)
  • Body Repair & Troubleshooting (ASE B2, B3, B5)
  • Mechanical Diagnostics & Fabrication (ASE A6, A7, A8)
  • Body Diagnostics & Fabrication (ASE B4, B6)

All students must start with the Historic Vehicle Maintenance and Light Repair class before moving on to other class levels.

The restoration program is open-entry/open-exit in design with a capacity of twenty students at this time. The class size is between four and eight students maximum.
